Still continuing studying Processing. Halfway with exercises from the book ‘Processing, A Programming Handbook for Visual designers and Artists’ by Casey Reas and Ben Fry. I decided to write down my experiences during the study. Below is an attempt in finding the right drawing coordinates of the Russian word ‘LEF’ (from LEF Magazine) as designed by Alexander Rodchenko in 1923. I used the coordinates as input for a 2D array of the Data 4: Arrays exercises.
We received a subsidy from the Société Gavigniès to produce the DVD Fantasy in Orbit.
Orientating at this moment in the field of data visualization.
We have arranged a flight to Iceland. It will be a short photography week. We are still not sure which locations we will visit.

In 1962 Philips asked Tom Dissevelt to compose an entire LP of electronic music. This LP project (14 tracks) was originally called ‘CheckPoints’ and depicted a journey around the world. The tunes had titles like: Mexico, Africa, Pacific or Australia. However, with the success of Dick Raaijmakers ‘Song of the Second Moon’ in mind, Philips wanted an album that would appeal to the current popular curiosity about outer space. Upon its release in 1964, the LP was renamed to Fantasy In Orbit.

Currently we are working together with Kees Tazelaar (Institute of Sonology, The Hague) on a 2D interpretation of le poème électronique. We try to follow the Minutage of March 2th 1958 as described by Jean Petit. Jeanne de Bont has made a version of the original screenfont for begin and end-titles. The third version has to be final. Final versions will be available in HD/SD/widescreen. Eventually an analogue film-version will be produced by the Filmmuseum in Amsterdam.
